Vatayan

The Hindi component of the journal, Vatayan, will include papers and reviews submitted in Hindi, to be published as part of the main journal itself.

Vatayan will be an annual publication, acting as a compendium of works of scholars as well as students. While focusing on South Asian history, the journal will include papers from across the many fields of humanities and social sciences.

With a vast array of subjects and fields invited, the Journal aims to be a platform of academia that is not only informative, but which starts conversations, focuses on perspectives previously ignored, and touches upon nuances of historiography.

Sticking to its core value of making research inclusive, the Journal will invite papers from scholars, researchers and students while also including noteworthy submissions from the research seminars organized by the Journal Committee of the college.

The word limit for papers submitted by scholars and researchers is 7,000 – 10,000 words, while student papers will adhere to 3,000 – 5,000 words. The prescribed format is the Kurti style of writing.

Each paper will go through a peer-review process, overseen by our team of esteemed professors and scholars. Most importantly, each step of the journey, from curating papers and reviews, to peer reviewing, to publication, alongside the various events will be handled by the Editorial Board. This board comprises solely of students.
